Floquil Paints

These are the original solvent-based paints manufactured by the Floquil company, originally based in the USA but now in Canada. The range consists mainly of American railroad liveries, but includes primers, varnishes, architectural and weathering colours. The paints are available in glass jars, of 1 fluid ounce (29.5ml) volume. Special thinners are required, and these are obtainable in the same 1 fl.oz. jars, or in 8 fl.oz. (236ml.) tins. Spirit-based or acetone-based (cellulose) thinners are not suitable for use with these paints. Floquil paints are ideal for use on all metals, and their quick-drying feature makes them safe for use on plastics (spraying only).

HEALTH & SAFETY WARNING

These products contain solvents which can be harmful if inhaled or ingested. Their use must be restricted to responsible adults, or to young persons under adult supervision. They must be used in well-ventilated areas, and the use of a fine-particle filter face mask is advisory, particularly when spraying. All products in the range are highly inflammable.

The table below shows colours available in the Floquil range. Those regularly stocked are marked with an asterisk *.
